With the concerns of EVH1 in the horse community I want to share some of the standard protocols that I use when massaging horses. I have been applying these standards even before these recent concerns. EVH1 isn’t the only virus. My mission is to help horses feel better and not to cause more health issues. I also do not want to bring anything back to my barn and I take the necessary precautions when I come home to my barn.
1. If your horse or other horses in your barn are not feeling well, fever, cough, runny nose etc. Please call to reschedule your appointment.
2. I will wash my hands with soap and water after I massage each horse. I do carry my own soap and water with me.
3. Depending on the situation I will change my shirt, jacket etc. between massages especially if I’m going to another barn.
4. I fully understand and respect the fact of anyone not wanting me to come to your barn over the next couple of weeks. Just let me know and we can reschedule.
